Abstract Initiative is a premium action game for PC by developer Concept Equals. It is a first-person puzzler with an emphasis on movement-based platforming. In it, players will take on all sorts of challengers equipped with a prototype weapon that is capable of moving and manipulating objects around them.
Similar in concept to others like Portal 2 and Viewfinder, Abstract Initiative is a game that allows players to manipulate the environment to help them overcome all kinds of challenges. It also incorporates various sci-fi themes into its gameplay as evidenced by its futuristic setting, weapon design, and narrative itself.
Prototype testing
Abstract Initiative sci-fi platformer that takes place in the distant future. You have been given a special prototype weapon called the EMG that is capable of moving and manipulating objects around you. An offshore testing facility was specifically built to let you test out the capabilities of this new invention in multiple experiments that are spread throughout room-like stages that house all kinds of problems to solve.
There are over 45 experiments to complete in this game across uniquely structured environments. Use your EMG tool to push, pull, hold, and move objects in any way you want with realistic physics. As you progress, unlock more than 1000 objects across 20 object types. Try to solve puzzles thrown at you in unique and varied ways before the time runs out.
Collect multiple energy items to upgrade your EMG tool and enhance its capabilities. In addition, there is a built-in editor that lets you create structures using the objects you've collected. If all this sounds interesting, you will have to wait for a while longer, since the game is still in development, and there are no announcements of a release date yet.
Manipulate the world around you
If you like physics-based puzzle platformers, Abstract Initiative is an interesting new title to watch out for. From its futuristic setting to the intriguing EMG tool and plenty of levels available, there are a lot of good things going for it. Only time will tell if it's able to live up to expectations when it officially comes out. Keep it on your radar.
